Larry and Colleen Halliday
In 1983 Larry and Colleen Halliday started Spindle Factory with a small saw and a spindle copier lathe. The lathe is still being used today and Larry and Colleen are still very much the two who make it all happen. Within one year of its existence, with hard work and excellence in customer service and support, a business flourished which is the basis and foundation of Spindle Factory today.
Dale Neilsen
Dale Neilsen was the first employee of Spindle Factory, turning spindles, making railings and routering posts to shapes. Today Dale is one of Spindle Factory's top sales associate and has the best track record in customer service and support.
In 1993, being a major supplier of spindles to lumber yards, Spindle Factory was approached by satisfied contractors to accommodate them with custom made stairs. Now, Spindle Factory is known to be the number one circular stair manufacturer in Edmonton.
Reuben Neufeld
Reuben Neufeld dubbed "the professor" is the most experienced in the field of stairs and has been an integral part of our success in providing the highest quality of custom built stairs.
Omer Verrier
Omer Verrier has been with Spindle Factory since 1989. After more than 14 years on the field as one of the best installers, Omer became the Quality Control and service supervisor. Omer is well known in Alberta for his skills, experience and extensive knowledge in the world of stairs and railings. Spindle Factory is proud to have Omer along side all these years and years to come.
Gordon Murray
Gordon Murray or "Gordie" has been Mr. Lathe from early days in Spindle Factory and today he keeps the wheels tuned and turning by maintaining our giant dust collector and air make up unit to a small hand held drill. Thank you Gordie for keeping us "Turning" all these years.
Ron, Thien, Hoa and Others
Ron, Thien and Hoa are also old timers with hauling over 20 years.
2002 was the year which metal spindles were added to the lineup of standard stock items and shortly after, Spindle Factory Powder Coating and metal fabrication shop was established. Metal spindles are made and powder coated in house, so are custom railings for exterior decks and patios.
In the same year Andy Owczarek joined the management of Spindle Factory as the general manager and his vast knowledge in the world of construction has moved Spindle Factory beyond just spindles and stairs. Spindle Factory constantly participates in large projects of renovations and new constructions. When asked by contractors for our assistance, our wealth of knowledge and professional approach to the challenges of the world of construction are what we specialize in.
In 2006 by adding a state of the art CNC Router to the already well suited line up of machinery and skilled work force, Spindle Factory became more efficient and the quality of the products have increased 10 fold. Today the lineup of posts in our standard catalogue is so vast that we would boldly say, "you dream it, we’ll make it".
Joining forces with Falcon Group from Kelowna, Spindle Factory offered yet another type of product to the consumer, Exterior Aluminum Railing (welded system) and "Falcon Topless" 10mm Glass system for "a million dollar view!"
